Visa for Schengen area

Slovenia, Austria and Germany are part of the european free-travel-zone (Schengen area). You only need to obtain a visa from the first Schengen country you enter, and it is valid in all other Schengen countries.

Travel from Slovenia to Austria

Maribor and Graz are only 70 kilometers apart (less than 60 min). The cheapest way to get from Maribor to Graz is by Flixbus; there is also a direct connection by train.

If you arrive by train at Graz Main Station (Graz Hauptbahnhof) you can take the train S3 to Graz Ostbahnhof, which is in walking distance of the official hotels.

If you arrive by bus at Graz P+R Webling, there are several public connections to the official hotels; you can use the cities official journey planner.

Travel from Austria to Germany

The cheapest way to get from Graz to Bonn is usually by train from Graz Main Station (Graz Hauptbahnhof). Travel time is around 10 hours.

You can also fly from Graz Airport (GRZ) to Cologne Bonn Airport (CGN).

Practice Opportunities in Austria

Outside of regular practice times in the tournament venue, practice courts are available for rent at Attention Badmintoncenter (Koßgasse 10, 8010 Graz) the whole time.

The official hotel Augarten Art Hotel has its own gym and wellness area.

There is an affordable FITINN gym nearby (Stadionplatz 1, 8041 Graz); daily entry is 15,90 € and you can get there by tram line 4 from Finanzamt or Jakominigürtel to Stadion Liebenau.

The more exclusive Merkur Gym (Conrad-von-Hötzendorf-Straße 84, 8010 Graz) is in walking distance; daily entry is 29 € and includes a wellness area.
